a little sewing

For my golf and basketball loving son, some new pajama shorts.
Summer's coming, and with the growth spurt the boy has been going through, his pajama shorts were getting a little TOO short, if you know what I mean. He requested some new ones, and these fabrics just had to come home with me when I saw them.

I'm very lucky - he loves it when I make stuff for him, especially pajamas. I know this won't last forever, but I'm hopeful.

You never know...many people told me all kinds of horrific tales of how my son would reject everything on offer from us but so far (he's nigh on 17) he is every bit as delightful company as he was as a tot on our laps...I think the key is to constantly keep an eye on respecting their development and need for independence because really, that's where the objectionable behaviour stems from in the first place - their need to "separate". Give them some space to express their own decisions in the wider world (and live with the consequences thereof) and then they are more than happy to accommodate requests like wearing home made PJ's!

You're pretty good about picking material he likes.

That's so awesome that he loves and even requests handmade things from you. How fun! :-)

He likes the stuff you make for him cause you take his taste into consideration. So many parents try to foist what THEY like off on the kid and it just doesn;t work.

There's always grand kids. In the future that is. Not too soon.
