Canada Post is making my life difficult...

I ordered some stuff from Knit Picks. (Because, you know, I NEEDED more wool and stuff...) I got a notice from Canada Post that it had entered their system, and was to be delivered on December 2. Perfect! Friday, I'm working at home, so I can get it before the weekend, and start some stuff I think I can finish before Christmas (because, you know, I'm in total denial as to what day it actually is...) The morning of the 2nd, I check Canada Post again, and find out it's now being delayed until Monday December 5th! Because from it's arrival in Mississauga, ON, (about 45km from my house) Canada Post decided to send it to Stoney Creek, ON (about 120km further west), then to MONTREAL, QC (about 560km EAST!!) before sending it back to Mississauga!
Yeah, I'm ticked. On top of all that, it wasn't delivered Monday, even though the Canada Post website said it was in Aurora. (Aurora is not that big a town - if it was there Monday morning, it should have been at my house that day...)
Now it's Tuesday, and I checked the website - it says it has been successfully delivered.
Let's hope so...

Argh. And Americans complain because they (might?) lose Saturday delivery?!

Sounds frustrating! That's weird how it keeps going farther away instead of closer or delivered. Argh! I hope it arrives today! Good luck!

To TracyKM - I'm in the US and I'd be fine with getting rid of Saturday delivery. Most of the mail we get is junk anyway. :-)

Well if you'd like, I can always swing by and pick it up for you so it doesn't sit on your wet doorstep all day. I could maybe even open up the parcel and check that everything arrived okay. You know, just to be helpful... ;)

Yup, there seems to be a problem @ the Mississauga site--I was supposed to have something delivered Xpresspost (extra $$$ to make sure it arrived on time) up to Bala, ON from Montreal--2 days absolute max....took a week and they had the gall to say there was an error in the customer address----uuuhhh sorry guys, it was VERY clearly written but some doughbrain in the Mississauga plant could not distinguish the difference between P0A and P4N so my package went to Timmins Ontario where they had the cojones to say it was the sender's fault!!! Even the postmistress in Bala said there was a problem with Miss. because Bala was not getting their usual load of mail. And they wonder why we all use the courier services.......
hope your package arrives today--if it says it's out for delivery/delivered, it usually is. Unless of course they decide they can't leave it at your home and take it to the local postal outlet where you have to go and pick it up......

Cheers, Barbie O. in Montreal

Oh my goodness, here I am, just south of you and pleased as punch with my deliveries! Mind you, I've never had a problem with Air Canada either - the other big bugaboo among so many Canucks. I must be living a charmed life.

'Hope your package is there when you get home!

Competition would do wonders for the service levels, I think.
