I got a comment on yesterday's post from "Anonymous"
It really isn't all about you, you know. Spillyjane gets the credit for the pattern. You should be thanking her.
Wow. I'm pretty sure I thanked Spillyjane. I bought the pattern (and yes, rearranged it to suit me), I thanked her in the original post about them, and mentioned her again here. She sure has a champion in Anonymous, because obviously, that person didn't think it was enough.
Oh, and "Anonymous"?? Thanks. Your timing was epic. You managed to take an incredibly crappy day for me and make it worse. Thanks, I really appreciate that. Especially from someone who doesn't have the balls to identify themselves.
For the record, I adore Spillyjane's patterns. She is very talented.

That's exactly it - they don't have the balls to identify themselves, so you shouldn't waste a thought on them - the last thing you need to do is explain yourself to someone who doesn't even have the courtesy to come forward as themselves.
So really, try not to let him/her pee in your cornflakes, especially with other, more important stuff to think about...
Hope your day gets better.
(hugs)
Anonymous is a coward, but please, don't take her comment personally. What she writes is a reflection of herself, not of you. It sounds like she's jealous of Spillyjane, or perhaps she wishes she could get her own designs recognized, or perhaps she has felt slighted in a similar way. It's not about you :) To think no one ever modifies knitting patterns is pretty naive.
I hope today is better!
Anonymous is a turd.
That Anonymous commenter sucks. Sorry she made your day worse. You made beautiful mittens and you should go pet them; it will make you feel much better - cashmere always does that.
Actually it really IS all about you--it's your blog! Anonymous doesn't have to read it if she doesn't like it.
Love LOve LOVe LOVE the flamingos!!!
They're gorgeous!!!!!!!
Nancy
I noticed that comment yesterday just as I was typing mine. I thought WOW!! Somebody sure has the winter blahs.
Actually, I thought that a persons blog WAS all about them!! Forget it. I wouldn't have even responded to it.
Sorry you had a yucky day:( I had one of the worst in quite some time on Tuesday, but thankfully things are looking up a bit!
I love seeing how people adapt patterns as they see fit. You gave full credit to the designer, that is the correct way to do it!!
I didn't yet catch up on the post in question that Anonymous posted on, but some people are just cowards and can't stand up and put a name to their comment. I also from time to time get nasty anonymous comments myself. They suck, but I don't let them get to me.
I agree that the Anonymous comment was just mean-spirited, and the person leaving the comment was a coward. Is there anyway you can block "Anonymous" comments? I think people should be required to identify themselves before being allowed to post comments on a blog.
The mittens are lovely- don't worry about comments from mean people looking to ruin your day and just enjoy wearing those beautiful mittens.
What a Troll. If said idiot read your blog at all, they would realize that you always credit the person who's pattern you did. Or jumped off from. You also like to point fingers at people who show you new patterns too., You are all about the crediting, so Anonymous can jump in hte lake....
